The Future Foretold

New Year is approaching. We all would be eager to know what the future would hold for us. 2008 being a very worst year, in terms of economic recession and financial meltdown globally, I am sure everyone would welcome 2009 with the hope that it would be full of the joys of spring.

Leave 2009. I wonder what India would be in the year 2050. My mind wanders. Come; let us see how it would look like……

It’s the New Years Eve. Year 2050 is about to begin. India is a developed country. People are planning to celebrate the new year on high rise buildings, most of which is 100 storied. The highest building is in India is 7500 ft high (three times the height of the Burj dubai building).

Every city in India is connected. There are bullet trains which could go at 1000 kms per hour. People travel from Delhi to Chennai for work and go back and vice versa as well. There are high speed expressways (20 lanes). There is no pollution anywhere in India. All the vehicles run on green technology.

Infrastructure is fantastic. All the infrastructure projects get completed before time. There is always Time under runs and cost under runs for all the infrastructure projects.

And all this is possible because our Gandhi family decided in the year 2009 not to contest any elections. Henceforth other good parties ruled the country, which made this change possible.

Let us hope this becomes true….Hey 2009, We welcome you. Bring us all the joy and development in the year 2009 and beyond.

too gud...we need leaders who can make this possible and definitely no political party boasts of even one of this kind as of now...they should all quit and only then India will become a country of our dreams..!!!

And then people would not crib on being put to a project in Chennai..!!

Gandhi family has helped our nation develop.. they brought the television and computers despite protest from the so called bttr opposition.. this future wud be have been achieveble if we ve had visionaries like rajiv gandhi..

After getting destroyed in the world war II japan became an economic superpower in just 50 years. And Gandhi family has just the credit of bringing TV and Computers to India. There is no other notable achievement. This development would hav happend anyway even if gandhi family was not there. In fact the only person from congress who is worth praising is Narashimha Rao who achieved a lot more compared to Gandhi family. Unfortunately no one even attended his funeral...Gandhi family did not even bother about that. All the more a reason why this family shd take political sanyas.

japan was literally carried by U.S on the path 2 developmnt.. a better comparison wud be our neighbours pakistan to c wat india has achieved in 50 yrs.. gandhi family hv laid their lives time n again for the nation ,we are a multicultural pluralistic state ndey ve united d nation unlike d opposition whose claim 2 fame hv been masjid demolitions n communal rights ,aims iits nits all world class institutions were established by them, how often do u have a pm on whose death all the countries lower their flags, thanks 2 them india is seen as a non partial democratic secular n now an economic superpower..

What congress practices is pseudo secularism. And none of the Gandhi family laid their lives for the country. Its their policies which led them to trouble. Indira Gandhi made a mistake in Punjab. And that led to her killing. And the same goes with Rajiv. And the so called congress party is responsible for the killing of sikhs in 1984. What a secular party if it is responsible sectarian violence. And who was in power at the center at the time of babri masjid demolition. It was congress. They could have averted it. They dint. So the party is a total failure in all aspects. Secularism, development etc. Its high time we throw them out of power.

This is the dream of every Indian. And it can become reality only if we have rulers with vision. Let's hope that happens :)
And with respect to the congress and its first family laying their lives for the nation, it was only Rajiv, not Indira, who was unfortunately killed due to a glaring security lapse. Yes, that is respected. But that alone can't be an atonement for much of the mistakes that they made.
Corruption, misguided nationalization and caste politics became a reality only under Indira. Nehru is singularly responsible for Kashmir becoming an issue in the first place by taking it to UN, which Sardar Vallabhai Patel opposed in the first place.
As for the opposition being "communal" that is part of the politics of fear that congress has been practicing for a long time. I don't understand how Unform civil code and article 370 can become communal issues. Congress has not much right to talk about secularism - one only remembers the "When a big tree falls the earth shakes" remark of Rajiv during 1984 anti-sikh riots.
